Hike 4 Hyde was a great success

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us put on the Hike 4 Hyde on April 25.  The event was such a huge success and far exceeded all of our expectations, raising over $20,000 net of expenses in the first year.

We’d especially like to thank the Forsyth County Parks and Rec Department as well as all the folks at the Sawnee Preserve Park for their generous support and the gorgeous park they built for the community.

All the volunteers who worked tirelessly for months leading up to the event as well as the day of the event. Emily Saunders from the Forsyth County News also worked so hard to tell Hydes story.

We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from the entire community. The people from the AHUS Foundation and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta Foundation were also incredibly impressed with the generous donations they received as a result of the Hike.

The bulk of the money went to the AHUS Foundation to help support research and testing for Atypical HUS. With continued research we are confident they will find a treatment that works for Hyde and all the others struggling with this terrible disease.

Thanks again. Words can’t express how lucky we feel to have such support in our community.
