I think the Corps of Engineers in Forsyth County really sank to a new low last week. We had rain the week before July 4, which should have raised the water level a little bit.

But in fact, the water level actually dropped at least 4 or 5 inches. I cannot understand why they did not wait until after the July 4 holiday to let out water. Surely they  created a real boating hazard on the Fourth, which produced a lot of boats.

I have lived on Lake Lanier for 30 years and this year was the worst that I’ve seen.
