Bike riders must follow laws too

Forsyth County News

On July 4, as I was approaching the light at Majors Road and Hwy. 9, three bike riders approached the red light at Hwy. 9 and Majors Road. With no regard for their safety and failing to stop for a red light, all three crossed without stopping.

A new law requires motorists to allow three feet between their car and a biker when passing them on the road.  Well, if they are not going to obey the rules of the road, then need to be punished as well.

I think that, with the millions in tax money spent on bike trails in the county, these riders should be banned from riding on the state and county roads.

These riders, dressed in their racing outfits and riding up and down Hwy. 9, which has no bike lane, are a danger to all.  This is not any Tour de Road race. Make them stay in the areas that were built for their use, not the streets and roads of Forsyth County.
