FD honor guard an inspiring group

Forsyth County News

One of the inspiring components of the recent Forsyth County Family Fest was the presentation made by the Forsyth County Fire Department Honor Guard: bagpipes and drums marching into the arena, the explanation of the bell and the tolling of the signal to return home.

As pastor of Pleasant Grove UMC, it was a joy to discover a gentleman in this congregation named David Bradley who coordinates funerals for firemen, by way of this wonderful group of men and woman. When I asked for his help with our own 9/11 Memorial, David provided us with the services of this wonderful unit. They arrived early the morning of worship to rehearse and to make sure they did the things we had asked of them. The result was a service we will never forget.

Please pray for this Forsyth County Fire Department Honor Guard as they provide this wonderful ministry of compassion.
