Forsyth County News

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I congratulate Forsyth County Probate Judge Lynwood “Woody” Jordan Jr.  on his recent appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Board of Commissioners of the Judge of the Probate Courts Retirement Fund of Georgia, as well as his selection as the state’s Outstanding Probate Court Judge of the Year for 2011.

Recently, I appointed Judge Jordan to the State Bar of Georgia’s Next Generation Courts Commission, which is charged with considering what our courts will look like in 20 years and forming a strategy to get there by evaluating the current court structure, technology, funding, caseload management and judicial selection process.

Judge Jordan’s acceptance of these appointments is evidence of his sustained commitment to public service and an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers and judges as we seek to fulfill both our duty to help others and our high calling as stewards of the justice system.

Kenneth L. Shigley

President, State Bar of Georgia
