A short ride to a good place

Forsyth County News

My son just finished his last season of youth football in Forsyth County and the memories we have are priceless. We met lots of great people and made new friends in the community from the coaches, park personnel, parents and other players. There were winning games, losing games, loud cheers and some not so loud cheers. Overall, it was a great experience and I would like to thank all the people involved.

But it was that 20-minute ride to and from practice that meant the most. Sometimes my son and I would talk the entire trip and other times we wouldn’t say anything at all. There were times we laughed and times we did not. There were times we argued about what he did wrong, or in his mind what he did right. On the way home I called him a sissy and he called me a jerk, I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he always said he didn’t know. Yes these were good times which will always be remembered. It is these little 20-minute rides alone that go a long way.

I hope everyone enjoys their 20-minute rides as much as I did.
