Forsyth County News

All four public high schools in the county were victorious Friday night, with West Forsyth, South Forsyth and Forsyth Central winning by double digits at home, and North Forsyth pulling out a tight one against Johnson in Hall County.

It's been a long time since fans of all the Forsyth teams went home happy on the same Friday night.

A review of FCN records shows Nov. 9, 2001, as the last time everybody got a win on the same weekend.

That night, Central topped Fannin County 30-7, South waxed Johnson 42-7 and North blanked Pickens 41-0. West wouldn't open for another six years.

How different were things for local teams in 2001? Central, South and North all played in Region 7-AAA, West's current region.

The Bulldogs, War Eagles and Raiders all finished with winning records and made the playoffs that year, with region champion North making the state semifinals before losing to eventual state champs LaGrange.
