West Forsyth’s girls tennis team posted a 5-0 victory against West Hall in the Region 7B-AAA opener on Monday at the Lady Wolverines’ courts.
West’s girls had wins at No. 1 singles by Susan Cropper, No. 2 singles by Sarah Fogg and No. 3 singles by Macy Day.
Katherine Harris and Carolina Wallner won at No. 1 doubles, while Taylor Hensley and Kelsey Toole won at No. 2 doubles.
West’s boys didn’t fare as well, suffering a 3-2 loss that was decided by a defeat in the third set of the No. 2 doubles match.
Victories came from Christian Stanko at No. 2 singles and Evan Dunwoodie at No. 3 singles.
The junior varsity Lady Wolverines were victorious against the JV Lady Spartans by a score of 5-0.
Wins came at No. 1 singles by Amanda Conklin, No. 2 singles by Sam Smith and No. 3 singles by Emily Vogt. The Lady Wolverines also swept the doubles with wins at No. 1 by Katherine Davis and Kayla Bagwell and No. 2 by Sydney Niemi and Alex Rinna.
West’s squads are set to travel to Hall County on Thursday to face the Lady Knights of Johnson in another region matchup.
