Denmark baseball standouts Francesco Capocci and Kyle Henley signed with ACC members North Carolina and Georgia Tech, respectively, during a ceremony Wednesday inside the school's cafeteria.
"It speaks volumes to the character and academic prowess of these two young men that they had so many family members, friends, coaches and teachers at their signings today," Danes head coach Jamie Corr said. "They both have helped build Denmark athletics so much, and we wish them many future successes."
Capocci earned Forsyth County News Pitcher of the Year honors this past spring while leading the Danes to the Region 6-7A title.
"UNC has always been my dream school," Capocci said. "Academics was a huge factor in my decision; and I feel the coaching staff there will continue to develop me to reach my full potential."
Henley garnered all-region first-team selection as an outfielder.
"I'm really lucky to be able to play for such an elite program so close to home," Henley said. "I already have a great relationship with many of the current and future Georgia Tech players, so it already feels like family."
