Denmark High School announced two more head coaching hires Thursday.
Barney Marchand will start the boys lacrosse program, while Lindsey Needham has been tabbed as the school’s first competition cheer head coach.
The hires were announced in a press release by the school.
Marchand is in his third school year at West Forsyth, where he led the girls lacrosse program to an 8-10 record this past season. Marchand has also been an assistant coach on the girls basketball, football and boys lacrosse teams at West.
Before coaching at West, Marchand started the boys lacrosse program at Johns Creek, where his teams went 68-42 from 2010-15 with five straight state playoff appearances and one area championship. Marchand also led Centennial’s boys program from 2005-07 going 30-19.
The New York native will chair the school’s physical education department.
Needham just finished her sixth season as West’s competition cheer head coach, leading the Wolverines to consecutive third-place finishes at the GHSA Cheerleading State Championships the past two seasons, and she was an assistant on West’s state championship gymnastics team last season.
Prior to West, Needham was the competition cheer head coach at South Gwinnett and worked with Grayson’s athletic association.
Needham will serve as Denmark’s graduation coach.
