The 2019 high school football season is just about to begin for Denmark, but two weeks from the Danes' kickoff against Cherokee Bluff,  the Danes have added yet another college commitment to cap off a eventful offseason.

Linebacker CJ Ford, one of a few notable transfers into the Denmark program, announced his commitment to Eastern Kentucky University on Saturday, becoming the fifth Danes football player to commit to a Division I program in the last two months.

Ford played his previous varsity seasons at South Forsyth, and last year, he was one of the most productive defenders in the county, racking up 95 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Ford's commitment to the Colonels will keep him with teammate Nick Carozza beyond high school, as he also committed to EKU this offseason.
