The Denmark football team, which finished 5-5 in its first season of existence this fall, placed nine players on the all-region teams for Region 7-4A, which were released Tuesday.

Wide receiver Ze'Vian Capers, tight end Andrew Harvey and offensive lineman Noah Mallard made the first team on offense. Capers, a junior with numerous offers from high-major programs, was one of the most dangerous receivers in the state, catching 62 passes for 1,187 yards and 11 touchdowns; Harvey, a sophomore, had 422 receiving yards on 25 catches; and Mallard graded out at 92 percent on the year with 41 pancake blocks.

Junior linebacker Zach Burchfield made the first team defense. Burchfield led the Danes with 91 tackles, including 14 for a loss, and forced two fumbles and recovered three.

Sophomore running back Devin duCille and junior tight end Nick Carozza made the second team offense for the Danes, and junior defensive lineman Arthur Marsden, junior defensive back Matt Cassandra and Carozza, at linebacker, made the second team defense. Danes sophomore punter Sam Lawrence was a second teamer on special teams.

Denmark placed three players on the honorable mention list: junior quarterback Ben Whitlock, sophomore receiver Teddy Davenport and junior defensive lineman Justin Hunter.
