A three-run home run by Kayla Smith and seven innings of three-hit ball from Taylor Gajdik gave Denmark its first playoff win in program history Tuesday, as the Danes topped LaGrange 4-2.

The win sets up a decisive Game 3 Wednesday, with the series tied 1-1.

Ellery Campbell doubled in the bottom of the first inning, then Jessie DeNardo was hit by a pitch to put a pair of runners on base for Smith, who homered on the first pitch she saw.

Morgan Kilmer singled in the fifth inning, then took second on a sacrifice by Smith and came around to score on an error.

Gajdik pitched a complete game, giving up two runs — none earned — while striking out seven and walking one.
