Forsyth Central used strong serving and a little help from a newcomer to win its first match of the year.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated North Forsyth in four sets, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22, on the road in a non-area match on Tuesday.
Central (1-0) totaled 20 aces in all, led by Amber Waddell with five. Sophomore Naledi Wilde, playing volleyball for the first time ever, contributed two blocks in the third set including one to clinch the set.
"They played awesome," Central coach Katie Vazquez said. "It was the best I’ve seen them play."
