Forsyth Central landed three players on the Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B all-region team, announced Monday.
Senior Shaun Diebel was named a first team running back, along with Sprayberry standout Trey Sermon, despite having his season hampered with nagging injuries. He rushed for 609 yards on 110 carries (5.5 yards per carry) and scored seven touchdowns, splitting backfield time with junior Sabrian Howard.
Ethan Jagnandan, a junior guard who helped push the run-based offense forward, was named as a first team offensive lineman. Robbie Repasz, a senior defensive back, was the third player named with 78 total tackles, including 59 solo stops, one pass defended, three fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.
Because the Region 7-AAAAA all-region team was split into its divisions, there were no second team selections. Matt Land of Dalton was named the Div. A coach of the year, while Derek Cook of Kell was named to the same award for Div. B. Creekview’s Kyle Wilkie, a senior quarterback, and Riverwood’s Marvin Kinsey were named the offensive players of the year, while Matt Cook of Dalton and Bryson Armstrong of Kell were honored as the top defenders.
Central finished the season 4-6 and 1-5 in sub-region play.
