Forsyth Central at Kell

When, where: Friday, 7:30 pm, at C.J. Kell Stadium in Marietta.

Records, rankings: Central is 2-1 overall, 0-0 in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B and unranked; Kell is 3-0, 0-0 and No. 5 in Class AAAAA.

Series history: Kell leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Kell won 53-21 in 2012.

What to know: Last year’s state semifinalists in Class AAAAA finished the regular season 10-0; the Longhorns could very well run through their remaining schedule undefeated. Senior quarterback Cam Rosendahl makes the Kell offense hum: he’s 50-of-69 (72.4 percent) for 657 yards and has 145 rushing yards. Rosendahl hit Bryson Armstrong (15 catches, 233 yards this season) for a 17-yard game-winning touchdown with one second remaining to beat Lassiter on Aug. 29. Itabari Mason ran for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Longhorns’ season-opening win over Carrollton at the Corky Kell Classic.

The Maxwell Projections favor Kell by 37 points; Central needs all hands on deck. If Shaun Diebel and Sabrian Howard can find space to run and the Bulldogs control possession, they can stick around. If Central turns the ball over or fails to move the ball, this one could be decided early.
