River Ridge at Forsyth Central

Series record: This is the teams’ first meeting.
What to know: Here’s a second chance for the Bulldogs to get their season started.
Central’s season-opener last week at Dawson County was called off with 3:54 left in the second quarter because of weather. At the time, the Bulldogs trailed 14-9, but Central had its highlights, like an 88-yard touchdown run from Sabrian Howard and a safety by linebacker Sebastian Legarra. Still, the Bulldogs struggled to sustain drives on offense, putting their defense on the field for too long. And yet, it turned out to be no more than a glorified scrimmage. Central figures to have put the extra week to good use.
The Bulldogs will see if they did against a River Ridge off to just the second 2-0 start since the school opened in 2009 after 36-8 and 27-14 victories against Woodland-Cartersville and Apalachee, respectively. But don’t be deceived; Woodland-Cartersville and Apalachee went a combined 1-19 last season, and the Knights are coming off a 1-9 season.
