Lambert grad Nick Guimbarda was named the Big South Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday after some big performances last week.
The Presbyterian College sophomore infielder hit .500 (9-for-18) with four doubles, seven RBI and three runs scored in five games for the Blue Hose. The highlight: Guimbarda’s go-ahead single in Presbyterian’s 11-8 victory Friday at Auburn, one of his three hits in the game.
But Guimbarda has been doing this all season. He’s started all 17 games he’s appeared in and is first on the team in doubles (seven) and second in batting average (.356), RBI (12) and stolen bases (four).
