When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at The Horn in Suwanee.
Records, rankings: North is 1-3 overall, 1-2 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked in Class AAAAAA; Lambert is 3-1, 3-0 and unranked.
Series history: Lambert leads 3-0.
Last meeting: Lambert won 31-6 in 2014.
What to know: North enters this game coming off its most lopsided result of the season, but if it weren’t for three major missed scoring opportunities against South last week, the Raiders might have put up a more respectable score than a 35-3 defeat. After facing a wide-open offense last week, the Raiders might be more comfortable playing defense between the hashes and downhill against Lambert’s pro-style, ground-and-pound attack.
The Longhorns will look to remain undefeated in region play and keep up with the Joneses. Lambert is currently tied atop the Region 6 standings with South at 3-0. It will be interesting to see which Lambert team shows up—after winning 45-36 against Centennial, the Longhorns won with defense in a 17-14 win against defending region champ Alpharetta.
Both teams bring three-headed rushing attacks. For North, quarterback Jacob Bailey and wing backs Simon Holcomb and Cody Dwyer have combined for 744 of the team’s 788 yards (197YPG). Holcomb has the highest yards-per-carry average (5.7). Lambert’s leading rusher, Harrison Pomfret, has led the team in rushes (70) and yards (245), while Brian Wright and Ken Dicks average 9.3 and 5.9 yards per carry, respectively.
