When, where: Friday, 8 p.m., at The Horn in Suwanee

Records, rankings, seedings: Pope is 15-5, ranked No. 2 in Class 6-7A and the No. 1 seed from Area 4-6/7A; Lambert is 18-1, ranked No. 1 and the No. 1 seed from Area 5.

What to know: These teams have plenty of state playoff history. Lambert defeated Pope for its first two state championships in 2011 and 2012, but more recently the Greyhounds dealt the Longhorns their earliest state playoff exit in program history with a 7-6 win in the first round in 2015. That loss fueled Lambert’s run to its third state title last season. This should be the Longhorns’ first test of the state playoffs after out-scoring their first two opponents 41-1.

What’s next: Will face the winner of Centennial-Roswell Wednesday in the state semifinals.
