Lambert’s Deena Kasmarik will play lacrosse at (Div. II) Valkyries of Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. next season.

Kasmarik played goalie the first two years of high school before switching to defensive middle. It was when she made the switch to defense that she caught the attention of the college coaches.

"I chose Converse because Coach [Ryan] Weiss made me feel like I would be a game-changer for their program and be able to make an immediate impact on the field," Kasmarik said. "Converse plays in one of the most competitive D-II conferences and I’m excited to participate at that level.

"I was a bit reluctant at first because it’s an all-women’s college but the campus is awesome and Spartanburg is a great place to be."

Kasmarik plans to earn a degree in art with a concentration on graphic design or animation.
