Baseball: North's Homesley named top pitcher at Elite Southeast Championship

The Georgia Bombers 17U Marucci, an AAU baseball team based in Cumming, won two Perfect Game tournaments this summer and finished as a runner-up in the World Wood Bat Association 18U National Championship.

The team also finished inside the top eight of the World Wood Bat Association 17U National Championship.

North Forsyth rising senior Baylor Homesley was named Perfect Game's most valuable pitcher for the Elite Southeast Championship, where the Bombers topped East Cobb Prime 17U in the tournament finals, 9-0.

Homesley, an Austin Peay commit, compiled a 3-0 record in 12 appearances, sporting a 1.91 ERA with 30 strikeouts. 

The team features seven players from Forsyth County, including Homesley, Brett Barfield [North Forsyth; Florida State commit], Parker Brosius [Lambert; Georgia Tech commit],Tyler Triche [North Forsyth; Georgia Southern commit], Drew Clare [Denmark], Brian Garmon II [West Forsyth] and Ashton Smith [Lambert].
