South Forsyth 8, North Forsyth 5

The War Eagles got a crucial county and Region 6-AAAAAA win over the Raiders on Thursday to end an eight-game losing streak.

South improved to 4-10 overall and 1-4 in the region, while North fell to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in the region.

Alec Kliphouse got the win for the War Eagles pitching five strong innings. Anthony Travato struck out two in two innings of relief to get the save.

Caston McDonald led South at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, while Jack Litras had two hits and an RBI.

Max Bening was a bright spot for North hitting his third home run of the season.


South Forsyth 11, Alpharetta 8

The Lady War Eagles got an Area 3-AAAAAA victory Thursday at home.

Madison Mueller led south with four goals.

Keri Porter scored three goals, Brookey Ruckman had two goals and Emily Drislinski and Courtney Wisler each scored a goal.


Walton 3, Lambert 0

The Lady Longhorns could take down the No. 9-ranked Lady Raiders in a non-region game Thursday on the road.

Lambert fell to 7-6 overall. The Lady Longhorns are 2-3 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

Despite the lopsided score, Walton (8-3-1) only out-shot Lambert, 7-6.

Pinecrest Academy 9, St. Francis 0

The Lady Paladins cruised to a Region 6-A win Thursday on the road.

Pinecrest improved to 5-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the region.

Ansley Heard led the Lady Paladins with four goals.

Mary Margaret Metz scored two goals, Amanda Boyd had two second-half goals after shutting out St. Francis in goal in the first half, and Katie Edwards added a goal.


Lambert 2, Walton 1 (2OT)

The No. 4-ranked Longhorns got their signature win Thursday, knocking off the second-ranked and previously undefeated Raiders in a non-region game on the road.

Lambert improved to 11-2-0 overall. The Longhorns are 4-1-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

Zack Davis scored the game-winning goal with 13 seconds left in the second overtime. Cooper Coughlin also had a goal, and Rob Bonet and Mitch Fandos each had an assist.

Pinecrest Academy 7, St. Francis 0

The Paladins got a dominating Region 6-A win Thursday on the road.

Pinecrest improved to 9-2-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the region.

Stephane Rivard led the Paladins with three goals. Maroun Sassine had two goals, and Logan Hamilton and Lucas Perez each scored a goal.

Luke Del Balzo and Joe Meersman shared the shutout in goal, while Pinecrest out-shot St. Fracis, 23-3.


Mill Creek 4, West Forsyth 1

The Lady Wolverines lost their regular season finale Thursday in a non-region match on the road.

Emma Niemi gave West its lone point with a win at No. 1 singles.
