Creekview 3, Forsyth Central 1

CANTON – Connor Tinkle had a hit but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped their regular season finale in a Region 7-AAAAA game Friday on the road.

Central played it safe, opting rest several starters after already clinching the region championship and a No. 1 seed going into next week’s Class AAAAA tournament.

Lambert 13, Centennial 2

ROSWELL – Seth Beer went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and the Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.

Thomas Reddin got the win for Lambert in the first of its two games Friday. Reddin scattered four hits over four innings allowing just one earned run. JJ Clements pitched two innings of relief.

The Longhorns also got strong performances at the plate from Kyle McCann (1-for-2, 2R, HR, 3RBI) and Jake Tomelevage (2-for-3, R, 2B, 2RBI).

Lambert 19, Habersham Central 4

MT. AIRY – Seth Beer was dialed in again going 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBIs help the Longhorns clinch a share of the Region 6-AAAAAA championship.

JD Dutka got the win on the mound, allowing three earned runs in two innings while striking out five.

The Longhorns had seven hits and 12 walks. Nick Guimbarda went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Johns Creek 7, North Forsyth 6

JOHNS CREEK – Griffin Caracciolo had three RBIs but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders dropped their Region 6-AAAAAA and regular season finale Friday on the road.

The loss locked North into third place in the region. The Raiders will face the No. 2 seed from Region 5-AAAAAA in the state playoffs next week.

Bailey Gerstner added an RBI for North, while Andrew Grogan struck out two in four innings.

Trion 4, Pinecrest Academy 1

Micky Mangan went 2-for-3 but the Paladins dropped their season finale in a Region 6-A game Friday on the road.

Pinecrest ends its season at 7-15 overall.

Jake Mangan took the loss for the Paladins, allowing five hits, four walks and three earned runs over five innings with five strikeouts.

Mickey Mangan led Pinecrest at the plate, going 2-for-3. Andres Perez had an RBI.

South Forsyth 4, Chattahoochee 2

Will Foy pitched six strong innings and the War Eagles earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home on Senior Night.

Foy scattered four hits and four walks over six innings for South (14-13, 10-8) allowing two earned runs while striking out three.

Brett Graczyk led the War Eagles at the plate going 2-for-4 with two doubles. Alex Andronica went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Justin Graczyk had a double and a RBI, while Max Schmal had two hits and Trae Dunn scored twice.

West Forsyth 9, Alpharetta 1

Hampton McConnell had two hits and four RBIs and the Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home to earn a share of the region championship.

Hank Flood got the win for West (x-x, 15-3), allowing just one run over five innings while striking out three.

Chris Cullen had two hits and drove in two, Mason McWhorter had two RBI and Alec Wilson added three hits.

GIRLS TENNIS

Lambert 3, Norcross 0

The Lady Longhorns swept matches at No. 3 singles, No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class AAAAAA tournament Thursday at home.

Lambert (15-0) will face Walton, the state’s juggernaut girls tennis program. The Lady Raiders have won 12 of the past 14 state championships in the state’s largest classification.

Lyndsey Pulliam earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles for the Lady Longhorns (15-0). Jess Owen and Madison Benefield won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Lauren Townsend and Vanessa Schrils won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
