Pinecrest Academy named Jonathan Oshinski the school’s next varsity girls basketball coach.
The Paladins made the announcement in a recent press release.
Oshinski, who graduated from Pinecrest, was most recently the school’s seventh and eighth grade boys basketball coach. He led the eighth grade team to the finals of the Metro 10 League this past season and the seventh grade boys to the 2017 Metro 10 championship.
Prior to Pinecrest, Oshinski was an assistant girls basketball coach at Oconee County High School for one season after graduating from the University of Georgia.
“I’m incredibly excited about this new opportunity to coach the varsity girls basketball team at Pinecrest Academy,” Oshinski said in the press release. “It is a program that has developed a reputation of success, and I am really looking forward to building on that tradition of excellence.”
Oshinski will replace Ken Lacy, who stepped down after four seasons with the program. Lacy helped turn the Paladins into a state tournament-caliber program in the Georgia High School Association. The Paladins went 71-35 under Lacy and reached the state tournament three times, including the 2017 Class 1A private school state quarterfinals. Pinecrest went 16-9 and reached the second round this past season.
