Pinecrest Academy’s football team couldn’t compete a comeback on the road against St. Francis on Friday night, falling 48-34 to drop to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in region play.

The Knights took a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and although the Paladins scored two touchdowns by halftime, St. Francis entered the second half with a comfortable 28-14 lead.

The Paladins continued to score in the second half, but not enough to keep up with the Knights. St. Francis upped its lead to 34-14 with 9:26 left in the third, and three touchdowns over the last two quarters weren’t enough for Pinecrest.

Pinecrest will again be searching for its first win next week, when the Paladins host King’s Ridge Christian.
