Pinecrest Academy at King’s Ridge Christian

When, where: Friday, 7:40 p.m., at King’s Ridge Stadium in Alpharetta.

Records, rankings: Pinecrest is 7-1, 4-0 in Region 6-A, Div. B and unranked; King’s Ridge is 1-7, 1-3 and unranked.

Series history: King’s Ridge leads 3-2.

Last meeting: Pinecrest won 56-21 in 2014.

What to know: A win for Pinecrest would mean the most in a season under head coach Todd Winter, who led the Paladins to a 7-4 campaign last year. King’s Ridge has effectively been blown out in six of its seven losses, and has surrendered 48 points in the last two weeks in losses to St. Francis and Mount Pisgah.

King’s Ridge is also the second lowest scoring team in the sub-region with just 55 points on the year. Only Whitefield, which has 25, has scored less. The Paladins are coming into the game with a four-game winning streak dating back to their 19-0 shutout of Whitefield. Their only loss is to the top team in Class A, Mount Paran Christian, and they’ve put up 49, 28 and 34 points, respectively, in three games.

Mitchell Ojeda is coming in hot for Pinecrest. Last week he had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown and scoring runs of 29 and 16 yards, while quarterback Ryan McCarthy added a 36-yard score. Expect the explosiveness to continue Friday night.
