Cumming resident Parker Hannon, of Pinecrest Academy’s middle school, will represent the Paladins program at the national level when he joins the 2016 U.S. National Team in late January. Hannon will join the Under-15 Select Team as a punter and kicker and will compete on Feb. 3, 2016 in the 7th annual International Bowl, held at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium, in Arlington Texas.

The U.S. National Teams, which are organized into six levels (U-15 through U-19), will compete against teams from Football Canada in the event. Both USA Football and Football Canada are part of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), which is the sport’s national governing body for youth, high school and amateur athletes.

Hannon’s trip will begin a week before Wednesday, Feb. 3, when the U-15 team will compete in the official game. Leading up to the contest will be organized team practices and jamborees.

Former International Bowl participants include current NFL players Malcom Brown (Patriots), Todd Gurley (Rams), Jameis Winston (Buccaneers), Brian Winters (Jets) and Bryce Petty (Jets), as well as current collegiate athletes Kevin Hogan (Stanford) and Samaje Perine (Oklahoma).
