Three Pinecrest Academy soccer players were selected to the Class 1A Private all-state team on Friday.
Defender Haley Triplett was chosen from the Paladins’ girls team, which finished as the state runner-up with a record of 16-4. Triplett led Pinecrest’s defense to 12 shutouts during her senior year, while also finishing the season with eight goals and six assists.
On the boys side, junior defender Brendan Kane and senior forward Connor Sassine were recognized for their contributions to a 10-5-1 season. Sassine was a primary scorer for the Paladins, connecting on 17 of the team’s 34 total scores to go with four assists. Kane was the foundation of Pinecrest’s defense and was key in ball distribution, while also scoring one goal with three assists.
