Pinecrest Academy’s varsity girls tennis team finished third at the Region 8-A tournament on Tuesday and qualified for the Class A state playoffs.
The Lady Paladins defeated Athens Christian School in the first round of tournament on Monday to secure a spot in the state playoffs. Pinecrest defeated Prince Avenue 3-2 on Tuesday to clinch the third seed.
The Lady Paladins received wins from Kristen Rocko (No. 1 singles), Christina Aufleger (No. 2 singles) and the team of Erica Papa and Micah Parr (No. 1 doubles).
Pinecrest will face Darlington School in the first round of the state tournament.
