What to know: South’s starters helped the War Eagles jump out to a 21-7 halftime lead over Winder-Barrow in last Friday’s scrimmage; senior Tyler LaFlamme ran for three touchdowns. "In all, it was a successful scrimmage," South head coach Jeff Arnette said. "I thought we could’ve played a little harder than we did. Our offensive line played well, but we’re still thin on both lines of scrimmage."

Mountain View head coach Doug Giacone is 5-15 in his first two seasons. The school opened in 2009 and is just 14-30 in six varsity seasons. Junior running back Nick Harris gets to run behind center Kendel Wright (offers from Georgia State, Army, Navy), while senior wide receiver Kielan Whitner is the main target for Bears quarterbacks Alex Scott and Sam Freitas. "They have four or five guys on offense who we don’t match up with that well," Arnette said. "We’ll have to be very sound on defense this week." Whitner was an All-Region 7-AAAAAA selection at cornerback. Defensive lineman Jordan Jones (6-3, 245) led Mountain View in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks last season.
