When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at War Eagle Stadium in Cumming.

Records, rankings: Cambridge is 0-1 and unranked in Class 6A; South is 2-0 and unranked in Class 6A.

Series history: South leads 1-0.

Last meeting: South won 45-16 in 2012.

What to know: South is coming off a 38-10 win over Central and will look to start the season 3-0 with a win against Cambridge. Cambridge played its first varsity schedule last year and went 1-9, including a 45-16 loss to South. With another year of growth the Bears should put up more of a fight, but they just don’t have South’s depth.

The War Eagles had to come from behind in Week 1 to beat Northview and started the game against Central with two turnovers. The offense must have better ball-control moving forward. South’s abundance of running backs, led by Isaiah Williams, have carried much of offensive load. Quarterback Matt White racked up 92 of his 113 passing yards on a short pass to Grant Umberger, where he sprinted past the defense for a touchdown. Except for White’s first pass, most of his incompletions came on drops. The receiving corp needs to improve to take this offense to the next level.
