South Forsyth alum Emily Harris was named to the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Harris, a junior at Young Harris College, was one of three players to start all 64 games for the Mountain Lions last season. She led the team in hits (82) and was tied for the team lead with a .352 batting average, finishing the season as a first-team All-Peach Belt Conference selection.
Harris was part of a historic run during her sophomore season, as Young Harris won a school-record 44 games and made an appearance in the Division II World Series for the first time in school history. Harris also helped the Mountain Lions to a 9-4 upset of top-seeded Long Island University Post in the first round.
Harris earned Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year recognition in 2018 after batting .403 — third-highest in the conference — while starting all 56 games.
