South Forsyth standout Douglas Cotter will play basketball at (Div. III) Berry College next season.

The War Eagles’ center averaged 15 points per game, 10 rebounds and three blocks his senior year.

"[Berry] is the best environment for me and made me feel welcome," Cotter said. "It was the best opportunity for what I want to do. I want to play right away and contribute right away.

"They have a new coach and he said every spot is open and he doesn’t have any [preconceived notions]. I’m going to do what I know how to do. … I hope I can be an All-Conference player."

Cotter said location played a little bit of a factor when it came to choosing a college.

"I wanted to get far enough away where [my parents] can’t surprise visit me, but close enough so they can still come watch me play."

Cotter plans to major in economics or business finance.
