South Forsyth High School has promoted assistant volleyball coach Steffi Legall-Riddle to head coach, the school announced on Friday.
Legall-Riddle, who came to South in 2017, replaces Kelly Wren, who had been at the helm for the War Eagles for the past 11 seasons. Legall-Riddle played collegiate volleyball at Florida, and previously served as the head coach at Marshall University and the University of Georgia. After a two-year stint with the Bulldogs, she became the head coach at Oconee County High School, where she led the Warriors to three state semifinal appearances. Legall-Riddle was born and raised in Germany and teaches German at South.
The War Eagles finished with an overall record of 25-12 last year and earned a No. 2 state playoff seed before falling to North Gwinnett in the second round of the playoffs.
