Kylie Gazza added to the county’s crop of soccer talent planning to play in college Friday.

The West Forsyth sophomore verbally committed to play for Samford University, announcing her decision on Twitter to play for the Division I-member Bulldogs who play in the Southern Conference.

Gazza is the 17th girls soccer player in Forsyth County verbally committed to continue playing in college.

“So happy to say that I’ve committed to play D1 [sic] soccer at Samford University!! Thank you to everyone that made this possible,” Gazza wrote.

Gazza won’t be able to formally sign her letter of intent until November of 2018 at the earliest, but she would join a Samford program coming off a SoCon Tournament Championship and appearance in the NCAA Tournament, where the Bulldogs lost 4-0 to Florida to finish 15-4-2.

Gazza already knows about playing for championships. As a freshman last season, she helped the Lady Wolverines win the Region 6-6A title and then advance to the championship game of the Class 6A state playoffs.
