Accolades keep rolling in for former West Forsyth softball player Danielle Bernstein.
The current Georgia College outfielder and Cumming native was named to the Division II Peach Belt Conference’s first team . Bernstein, now in her sophomore season, has recorded 67 hits in 148 at bats this season for the Bobcats, an average of .453, and has scored 38 runs along with 18 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. In the field, she’s recorded zero errors.
Last season, Bernstein collected all-freshman and second team honors, batting .336 with 25 runs scored, 38 hits, eight RBIs and 15 stolen bases on 20 attempts.
Her contributions have helped the Bobcats to a 44-9 record, including a berth in the 2015 NCAA Division II Softball Championship Regionals. Georgia College was awarded a No. 2 seed by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee and will open against Armstrong Atlantic on Friday at 8 p.m at home.
