West Forsyth's Wieczorek named to All-Patriot League football team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross sophomore wide receiver Jake Wieczorek has been selected to the 2014 All-Patriot League football team, in voting by the conference’s head coach. Wieczorek, a former West Forsyth standout, was one of three Crusaders named to the second team.

Wieczorek played in all 12 games this year at wide receiver, starting every time. He led the team with 50 receptions for 694 yards and five touchdowns, and tied for third on the team in scoring with 30 points. Wieczorek also returned five punts for 71 yards and four kickoffs for 57 yards, while accumulating a team-best 823 all-purpose yards. He finished the season ranked sixth in the Patriot League in receiving yards and ninth in receptions. Over the course of his career with the Crusaders, Wieczorek has now totaled 62 receptions for 909 yards and seven scores.

Wieczorek had a year to remember at West in 2012. A running back for the Wolverines, he rushed for 1,195 yards and 13 touchdowns on 127 carries and caught 46 passes for 893 yards and eight touchdowns to help West go 10-2 and reach the second round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs where it lost to Parkview in overtime.

Holy Cross concluded the 2014 season with an overall record of 4-8, and tied for fifth in the Patriot League with a 2-4 mark in conference games.
