GAINESVILLE — Several law enforcement agencies are searching for a 23-year-old woman who went missing late Wednesday night at Lanier Point Park off Dawsonville Highway (Hwy. 53.)

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook, spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, said Lizeth Ruby Ruiz got separated from a group of friends at the park and has not been seen since.

Authorities are searching land and water at the lakeside complex. Searches began Wednesday night and resumed this morning. Those involved include the police department, fire departments from Gainesville and Hall County, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Natural Resources.

The park has been closed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
