The water line is expected to be repaired by 5:30 p.m. Crews will then flush the line and pull a bacteria sample, officials said.

The advisory is in effect for no less than 24 hours, officials said, during which time citizens are advised to boil all water to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil, according to officials.

Officials advise that citizens continue to boil their water for 48 hours after water pressure has been restored unless otherwise notified by Cumming Utilities that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the water is safe for human consumption.

Once water pressure is restored, citizens should flush their house plumping, officials said.
