In an effort to get Forsyth County residents to buy locally, the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce is holding an inaugural event a week from Tuesday.
The 2017 FoCo Expo, which will be held at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical College in partnership with the Forsyth County News, is aimed at offering exhibitors and attendees an opportunity to network, collaborate, promote and learn about local businesses while offering food, drink and raffles.
The event “was developed to increase diversity in Expo attendees and to foster a festive atmosphere,” a news release said.
The expo, which will run from 4-8 p.m. on Aug. 29, will feature 68 vendors from across the county and have events for every age.
Adults who want to purchase raffle tickets may do so when they arrive, and children can jump in a bounce house, have their face painted and get balloon animals made.
Food trucks Tex’s Tacos, Happy Belly, Cattywampus Grill, Espetada, Deep South Bisquit Co., and Reppicci’s and Vickery Village’s Cherry Street Brewing Co-Op will be on-site.
Attendance is free, though food, beverages and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
The Forsyth County News is the event’s title sponsor. Other sponsors include Cumming Smiles Dentistry, Walmart, Brandywine Printing Inc., and AT&T, among others.
