Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber breakfast offers legislative recap
capitol

CUMMING — The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce is holding a post-legislative breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Sawnee EMC Auditorium.

“It’s an opportunity really for chamber members and [Lanier-Forsyth] Rotary [Club] members and citizens to have access to our legislators and to be able to ask them questions,” said Laura Stewart with the chamber.

“Particularly since this is our post session event, to get responses about how things turned out the way they did, why certain things happened in session and still forecasting the future based on what just happened in this past legislative session.”

Forsyth County’s state legislative delegation, all Republicans, includes: state Sens. Michael Williams and Steve Gooch; and state Reps. Wes Cantrell, Mike Dudgeon, Geoff Duncan, Sheri Gilligan and Kevin Tanner. According to Stewart, all seven are expected to attend.

This will be the final legislative breakfast for Dudgeon, who announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking re-election to his District 25 seat due to growing business responsibilities. Dudgeon was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010.

The breakfast is $15 to attend for chamber members, and $30 for non-members.

The Sawnee EMC Auditorium is at 543 Atlanta Highway in Cumming, beside Andean Chevrolet.
