DAWSON COUNTY - The Dawsonville Walmart on Ga. 400 was reopened at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday after deputies and explosive-detecting police dogs cleared the building following a bomb threat.

The store evacuated at 6:21 p.m. after Walmart employees discovered a message in the bathroom that included the bomb threat.

Deputies from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Dawson County Emergency Services were on scene during the search.

According to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson, investigators will now begin interviewing Walmart employees and look at security camera tapes to see if they can determine who left the message.
