CUMMING — Northside Hospital- Forsyth was recently recognized by the American Heart Association for its “high quality cardiovascular care” through the association’s Mission: Lifeline and Get with the Guidelines programs.

According to a news release, Northside received the STEMI — short for ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction — Receiving Center Gold Level Recognition Award, which the hospital earned for its success “implementing exceptional standards of care for heart attack patients.”

Northside also was recognized by Get with the Guidelines with a Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for heart failure and Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for stroke.

In addition, the hospital received the Get with the Guidelines Gold Performance Achievement Award for treatment of acute myocardial infraction patients.
