Forsyth County residents recycled 46,665 pounds of old electronics during a recent effort.

The semiannual Keep Forsyth County Beautiful event was held Oct. 1 at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

More than 300 vehicles dropped off electronics, which included 251 personal computers, 133 monitors and 110 TVs.

"Recycling these items truly makes a difference toward preserving a clean environment for our community," said Tammy Wright, environmental program manager.

"We appreciate the residents who came out to the event to recycle their electronics, and we extend our thanks to all of the volunteers who helped."

The weight of this year’s fall collection exceeded last year’s by about 8,000 pounds.
