FORSYTH COUNTY — A two-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning sent a Cumming man to the hospital and created heavier-than-normal morning traffic for many area commuters.

Though the initial 911 call reported potentially more serious injuries than what emergency personnel found, Post Road was shut down at Dickerson Road about 7:50 a.m., according to Pete Sabella, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

One man was taken to North Fulton Hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

It was not immediately clear whether the second driver, also a man, required medical transportation.

No one else was in either vehicle, Sabella said.

According to an accident report, the driver of a Nissan 240SX pulled onto Post from Dickerson in front of an oncoming Lexus GS300.

The Nissan was cited for failure to yield right of way.

Once Post reopened, southbound traffic was diverted onto Dickerson for about an hour, while northbound motorists were asked to turn around.

Traffic to the east was simultaneously heavy due to a failed traffic light at Castleberry and Bethelview roads.
