Commissioner Brian Tam is scheduled to address the Forsyth County Tea Party Patriot Alliance during its meeting Monday night.

The session, which is open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in the Central Park Recreation Center, 2300 Keith Bridge Road.

The alliance has billed the event as a chance to ask questions about local government.

The group does not endorse candidates, said member Bob Frey, who added that another local tea party backed Tam’s opponent in the 2012 election for the District 2 post on the Forsyth County commission.

“He won his district by a good measure,” Frey said. “Why? We feel the people should hear from him to form a proper opinion. I’m sure there will be tough questions.”

Tam was re-elected to a third term representing his south Forsyth district in the July Republican primary.

Frey said the tea party alliance has invited local and state officials to speak at its meetings, and Tam is the first to come forward. State Sen. Jack Murphy will be a guest in August.
