DAWSONVILLE — A Cumming woman has been charged in connection with the alleged rape of a Dawsonville teenager.

Cortnie L. Jenkins, 35, was arrested last week on one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes and four counts of party to a crime. The charges are felonies.

Dawson County jail records show she is being held without bond.

Sheriff’s investigators have accused Jenkins of facilitating the  mid-July arrangement of a 15-year-old girl at a home on Maple Lake Ridge in southeastern Dawson, where she was reportedly raped.

"She solicited the juvenile to join in with the sexual act and transported the juvenile to that location," said Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Wooten.

Garry Leon Gattes, 35, who was staying at the home at the time but whose listed address is in Cumming, was arrested July 16, days after the teen reported the assault to her family and later to authorities.

"Ms. Jenkins was present at the time and did nothing to stop the acts of crime against the juvenile," Wooten said.

Described as a friend of the girl's family, Gattes was charged with child molestation, rape, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.

He also was charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes and pandering.
