sheriff

SOUTH FORSYTH — A theft suspect who was tracked by Forsyth County Sheriff’s dogs early Friday morning turned out to be a 15-year-old boy.

According to the sheriff’s office, the juvenile was found at his home, which is two streets from where the incident reportedly occurred in the Windermere community.

The incident began about midnight, when a homeowner reported seeing someone in the garage taking a bicycle.

According to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, deputies interviewed the boy in front of one of his parents after tracking dogs led them to the family’s house.

The teen, whose name has not been released due to his age, was referred to Forsyth County Juvenile Court.

The court does not release information on any juveniles who pass through its doors.

It was unclear whether the bike was returned to its owner.
