Man charged with arson in Memorial Day fire that burned woman

FLOWERY BRANCH - A man has been charged with arson and aggravated battery in a Memorial Day fire that injured a 56-year-old woman.

David Egypt Young, 56, of Flowery Branch is in custody at the Hall County Jail.

Jane Thomas, 56, was flown Monday from the Flowery Branch home in the 3600 block of Osborn Road to Grady Memorial Hospital. She suffered second- and third-degree burns to 30 percent of her body and is in stable condition at Grady.
